Theodore roosevelt ran for president for a third term in 1912. he ran under the progressive party running against his old party, splitting the votes between the two. In the end Woodrow Wilson won the election by a landslide who was under the democratic party. Shunned by the american people he wanted to go do something that made him feel important again. He went to south america to explore. The minister of Brazil told Teddy about the uncharted river: the River of Doubt this journey was very dangerous and Roosevelt almost died on this trip. he was determined to stay alive for his son who was with him on his trip. in the end teddy and his son both survived the adventure and the whole river was charted
